THE SPORTS INDUSTRY ACADEMY HOSTED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SANTA BARBARA

The Sports Industry Academy Summer Program will provide an introduction to the $600 + Billion Sports Industry to mature and highly talented California Community College, University and High School scholars from across the country. Prominent sports executives will guide scholars on the inner-workings of the sports industry.

 Through an intense 1-Week summer program hosted at UC Santa Barbara, Walter Boggan/Sports Industry Academy provides scholars with an insight on the inner-workings of the sports industry while simultaneously advising them on career options and the importance of creating contacts and establishing an entrepreneurial mind-set. Scholars receive:

1-week intense program on the campus of UC Santa Barbara

Housing and Meals provided by UC Santa Barbara Residential Life

Lectures by some of the top sports executives in the country

A behind the scenes look at a Los Angeles sports organization (2024: Wasserman)

Insight on the inner workings of sports industry careers

Cohort projects (i.e., player contract negotiations, community relation projects for a professional athlete, public relations in sports, new media in sports, entrepreneurship in sports, Name, Image and Likeness, Sports & Technology, etc.)
